Do I have copyright on the photos from my session?

  • Yes, absolute & full copyright.

What can I do with the copyright and images?
  • Anything that you can think of: display all the images on digital frame, send your photos to family and friends overseas, post them on FaceBook or Flickr, print them as many times as you’d like, display them on your computer at home and work, produce amazing items from the plethora of websites that are available to creatively use your images (such as greeting cards, calendars, notepads, cups, mousepads).....the list of possibilities is endless when you have the copyright of all the images. We can help provide some direction and ideas.

Do you belong to a professional photography body?
  • We are emerging members of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP).
    We use resources that are provided by the AIPP, such as media releases and contracts where necessary, to ensure your protection which is especially important when talking about the copyright of your images, for example.

Other than the cost of the package that I choose, what other costs are there?
  • Nothing.

Other than the inclusions of the package, what other products can Studio LUMIERE provide?
  • We have many optional extras that are at your disposal, such as albums, canvas mounts, art mounts and a printing service.

Who will be taking my photos?
  • Nic & Matt will both be there on your wedding day. Nic will be the one to capture your family or event shots. While some studios may employ other photographers to take the shots, we believe that it is our work that you are wanting to capture for your family. The photos that you see on this website have all been taken by either Matt & Nic. What’s more is that the whole process, including the post processing will be done by us too. So the product that you receive will be the consistently high quality that is expected from Studio LUMIERE and by Matt & Nic.

Where can I print my photos?
  • You can print them anywhere from Kodak to Rabbit Photo to a professional printing service that you can find in Yellow Pages.

Why would I have Studio LUMIERE print my photos?
  • Studio LUMIERE’s monitors are calibrated to the professional printing company that we use, so this means that colours and contrast are absolutely perfect. This is particularly important for those images that are printed above 8”x12” for wall presentation so that the image isn’t too dark, too pale, skins tones are realistic or colours not overly saturated. Also, we can provide a full range of spectacular finishes including lustre, gloss and metallic. Studio LUMIERE favours the striking effect of the metallic paper, perfect for portraiture and weddings, that give your images intensity and gloss that is truly beautiful. These papers are especially effective for those few images that you would like to have as wall presentations and these are the images that Studio LUMIERE recommends you have us print the photos.

I don’t know any quality framers.
  • We can provide a referral to quality framers that we trust or if you’d rather, we can manage the process for you.

How far will you travel and what are the costs?
  • We’re happy to travel anywhere. Studio LUMIERE is centrally located within 5kms of the Brisbane CBD. For locations that are approximately one hour travelling time from the Brisbane CBD are included in the package pricing. For distances greater than this, we will charge $50 per hour to cover photographer’s travel time and expenses. Please contact us for specific costs for longer distances that require air travel &/or accommodation. Any additional costs would be fully agreed upon prior to the shoot. At Studio LUMIERE, you will never be presented with a cost or invoice that you were not expecting prior to undertaking the photography shoot.

What does an “Art Mount” look like?
  • An Art Mount is a unique way of presenting photos that is innovative, lightweight, easy to hang and contemporary. The mount is approximately 20mm thick and allows us to display the photograph right to the edge of the mount. Below are some examples you can click on to enlarge. Order turn around takes approximately one week.

When should I make a booking?
  • As soon as you have your events dates finalised
  • Or, whenever your family is free. Studio LUMIERE is available Monday to Friday as well as weekends. If you choose a location such as a park or a beach, then the best time to capture gorgeous light for your images is early in the morning (earlier than 9am) or in the afternoon after 3pm. If you choose your home, any time is suitable.

Why do you use PayPal to process payments?
  • At Studio LUMIERE we use the 'PayPal Email Payments' system because it is a convenient and very SECURE way to process a transaction online. PayPal accepts credit card and PayPal payments online through its secure site. As a buyer there is no requirement for you to join PayPal unless you wish to. Do you provide an alternative payment method to PayPal?
  • Yes, we are more than happy to accept money order, bank cheque or direct debit. When you process your store order just make note of your preferred payment method on the order email and we will provide you with details.

How would you describe the images that Studio LUMIERE creates?
  • At Studio LUMIERE, we aim to create images are casual and candid. No stiff set up postures but more casual & candid images that capture the essence of the individuality of your family, event or wedding day.

Is Studio LUMIERE a business entity?
  • Yes, we are an Australian Business and a registered business licensed to operate in Queensland.
